I've sometimes be asked by advertisers if we can serve rich media in our emails, and its been some time since I've seen flash in an email. I remember a piece that LenderLab did-- and I'll have to ask Dan Campbell if he still has it-- of a flying saucer. It was literally, out of this world.
Now, in a recent issue of b2b, the headline catches my eye: "Don't shy away from using video in e-mails" The story is about Sun having success with using video in emails, but, the trick is- and this is genius- they actually use HTML for their email and they make the HTML resemble an embedded video player.
